| Fraser High handed out $27,000 to five charitable groups at halftime of the school’s March 2 boys varsity basketball game. The money was raised in the fall during the school’s “Ramblers for a Cause” fundraiser centered around a Sept. 18 varsity football game at Romeo High. |

In the past 10 years, Troy High competitive cheer coach Beth Campbell has seen her squad go from a blip on the radar to a powerhouse program. Campbell said a combination of consistency and precision has helped the Colts become one of the top squads in metro Detroit.

| MHSAA welcomes more than 600 for the 19th WISL conference |
More than 600 female athletes, coaches, administrators and officials from across the state converged in Lansing Feb. 7-8 for the 19th annual Women In Sports Leadership Conference sponsored by the Michigan High School Athletic Association. This year marked the largest conference attendance in the event’s history and was highlighted by award winner Gina Mazzolini, an assistant director at the MHSAA. |

| North Farmington cheerleading regains OAA league championship |
Winning the Oakland Activities Association White Division championship was a magical moment for the North Farmington cheerleading squad. Just last season, after realignment in the OAA moved the Raiders from Division III into the White Division, their two-year run as league champions (2006-08) was halted when Clarkston High also moved into the White Division and seized the league crown. |

In just three short years of being a Michigan High School Athletic Association sanctioned competitive cheer team, Hazel Park High has gone from new kids on the block to top 24 in the state in Division 2. On Feb. 20, the Vikings advanced out of their district tournament and into regionals for the first time ever after taking third place at Berkley High. |
